Celebrating the Craftsmanship and Vision of Women Artisans: The 4th Edition of the Prix des Artisanes

At Paula, we highlight the work of craftswomen who perpetuate unique skills. These often invisible trades are essential to preserving and promoting our cultural heritage.

That's why we're delighted to present the Prix des Artisanes, an initiative supported by ELLE, ELLE Décoration and ELLE à table magazines, in collaboration with the LVMH group. Now in its fourth year, the prize aims to salute and support the women who, every day, shape excellence in their workshops and beyond.

Honoring Women Artisans: A Testament to Talent and Dedication

The Prix des Artisanes is a prestigious platform that acknowledges the exceptional contributions of women artisans, fostering their craft and spotlighting their influence on cultural and artistic heritage. This year’s ceremony was particularly special as it underscored the vital role that LVMH Maisons, including the House of Dior, played in crafting the iconic designs for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

A jury of esteemed experts—comprising representatives from LVMH Maisons, seasoned journalists, and industry leaders—reviewed entries across five distinctive categories:

• Fashion Crafts: trimmers, embroiderers, textile designers, etc.

• Jewelry and Watchmaking Crafts: goldsmiths, gemologists, designers of exceptional jewellery, etc.

• Design and Tableware Crafts: glassblowers, ceramists, decorators, etc.

• Heritage Preservation Crafts: restorers of works of art, monuments or old books, etc.

• Wine and Vine Crafts: winemakers, oenologists, grape variety specialists, etc.

Each of these categories illustrates the richness and diversity of French expertise.

Winning the Prix des Artisanes is an opportunity to gain unique visibility for your work and your career, thanks to the reports and videos published in the various ELLE magazines.

The prize also offers full professional support to help their business grow. In partnership with Artisans d'Avenir and the Institut National des Métiers d'Art, the winners will benefit from tailored mentoring to help them meet the challenges of their profession, develop their network and imagine new prospects for their future.

Through this award, the organisers hope not only to celebrate the craftswomen of today but also to inspire the generations of tomorrow (like Paula after all!).
